Introduction to The Fibo Concrete Calculator UK
The Concrete Calculator UK Spread Sheet can be download on this page. the concrete calculator will help you work out the cost of several concrete mixes including:
C20/Gen 3/ST 1
The data gives you the quantities of cement, aggregate and sand for each mix. You can then calculate the cost using the concrete calculator.
Concrete Calculator UK for Concrete Mix Costs
To calculate the cost of each mix, go to the mix table and input the quantities in the cells.
You then need to check the prices you pay for your cement, aggregate and sand. We have included current 2019 bulk prices as a starting position for you.
The calculator includes the cost for a B1800 fibo concrete batching plant and the labour to load the machine and mix the concrete ready for use. The B1800 batching plant is mobile and is easy to set up within a few hours on any site. The out of the B1800 is between 20 to 30 m3/hr
Concrete Calculator UK for Concrete Plant ROI
The calculator includes a section for the return on investment for the concrete batching plant. The example is the return on investment for the B1800 mobile batching plant with a total investment of £118,889.
With a saving of £21.03 per m3, the payback period is seven months or 5652m3 of produced concrete.
After this period and quantity of concrete produced, the plant has been paid back.
The profit potential for the B1800 is an average output of 25m3 per hour. Times a six-hour shift. Times 5 days per week, working 30 weeks per year and a profit of £21.03 per m3 is £573,175.
The total output is 22,500m3 with the utilisation of the plant running at 50%
The output and profit can double at full capacity to £1,146,350.
Working out your concrete selling capacity is vital for the calculations.
Concrete Ratio V Prescribed Mixes Concrete Calculator UK
You will notice in the concrete calculator UK there are two tables for concrete mixes. They are:
- Concrete Mix Ration and Weights
- Prescribed Concrete Mixes
The concrete mix ratio table gives the mix proportions by volume parts then converts them into kg to mix 1m3 of concrete. You will notice when the concrete strength increases using this method. The cement content increases far more than the prescribed concrete mix table.
For example, the C30 mix includes 726kg of cement in the mix ratio table and only 330kg in the prescribed mix table. The cost difference will be significant if you run this through the calculator.
The BS 8500 Minimum Cement Table gives you the minimum cement content for each mix. The table is for a slump class of S3 (mass fill foundations)
Concrete mix ratio by volume was developed as a guide but is not accurate. The two ways of looking at concrete mixes can be confusing if you are new to concrete mix design.
The prescribed concrete mix table is more accurate but is only a guide. The only method to ensure the mix meets the design mix strength is to carry out trial mixes.
Trial mixes are done by taking samples of your aggregate and sand, to work out the correct proportions of each to maximise compaction of the cured concrete.
A concrete technician can then design a prescribed mix beginning with selecting the workability slump types. The concrete technician can then choose the correct water/cement ratio and additives for the concrete design.
The final part of the process is to make a sample of the concrete and test it at 28 days to ensure it meets the design strength.
